This Art Gallery was created by Canadian comedian Nathan Fielder to serve up coffee as art as part of his Comedy Central show “Nathan For You. People lined up around the block to participate in the event and to scored to score a white paper cup with a sticker bearing the curious logo. Once opened, Dumb Starbucks caught the attention of the real Starbucks, who are stepping up to protect their trademark. Fielder states that the event is shielded by a parody law, and that by adding the word ‘dumb,’ they are technically making fun of Starbucks, which allows them to use their logo. All done in good humour, but the comment on the American dream and how we interact with contemporary marketing and corporations is real.
